Dr. Isabel Correia
Veterinarian
Dr. Isabel Correia is an associate veterinarian at Five Rivers Pet Emergency Hospital with a deep passion for wildlife, conservation, and the connection between animal and human health. Her interest in veterinary medicine was shaped by a lifelong commitment to conservation and inspired by leaders working to protect both animals and ecosystems.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Notre Dame before completing veterinary school at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. While in vet school, Dr. Correia also completed a Master of Public Health and contributed to research projects ranging from manatee health in Puerto Rico to black bear studies in the Smokies. She graduated with her DVM in 2025 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Comparative and Experimental Medicine, studying aquatic wildlife disease.
Dr. Correia lives in Knoxville with her cat, Lily, a talkative five-year-old domestic shorthair, and Juniper, a high-energy Lab–Australian Shepherd mix who loves exploring new trails. In her free time, she and Juniper can often be found enjoying the many parks and outdoor spaces around Knoxville. Dr. Correia is excited to serve the Five Rivers community and support pets and their families during critical moments.
